Jackson has been raised by my husband Jeff, who is, by the very definition, his Dad. However, through the years, he has also kept a relationship with his biological father, visited him frequently, and really adored him. I have remained close to my ex in-laws (Scotts Family), as we have gone through so much together. Scott passed away unexpectedly this week, and needless to say, telling Jackson might have been the hardest thing I ever have done. Im thankful for the support of my husband, family and friends for the strength they have given me in the past 24 hours. While heartbroken for the entire situation, I know that the disease and illness, plaguing Scott, during his earthly years, are no longer weighing down his kind soul. He is with His Creator...he is at peace. During a moment yesterday, when Jackson and I were alone and processing everything that has happened. He paused...Finally, he looked up and said Do you think Zoe was there to welcome Daddy to Heaven, and take him to meet Jesus? I looked at him, and said with confidence...yes, absolutely. Asking for prayers for Scotts family, and my little Jackson, as we spend today saying goodbye.
