Jake and I attended the Habitat for Humanity training session yesterday at the old Agway store in Plainfield. Really appreciate what Habitat does for folks in need and like their concept of a Hand Up rather than a Hand Out, why cant the Federal Govt adopt this practice. Families get a nice home for a reasonable price with no interest ... so they can try to get ahead and live decently. Why cant welfare and other fed agencies operate this way? I am willing to help the next guy, but would appreciate it if some folks would try and help themselves! Looking forward to volunteering for Habitat, it is a truly worthy cause.
