Jamaican-born, Connecticut-based singer, Anita Antoinette has advanced to the live rounds of the NBC music reality show, “The Voice.” The Kingston-born songstress, defeated country singer Chris Wayne Boyd last night, to move on past the Knock Out round and move on to the Live playoffs, as part of Gwen Stefanies Team. Antoinette’s cover of the reggae song “Rude” by Magic, thrilled the entire panel of judges. She delivered not just on the song, but brought excitement to her performance that left even Coach Blake Shelton wowed. After the exhilarating performance the coaches expressed their approval with Adam Levine, coach of last years winner Tessane Chin, congratulating 25 year-old Anita on coming out her shell, while Pharrell Williams applauded her for unexpected and super confident notes. Her coach, Gwen Stefanie said “You are incredible, you have come so far it’s shocking.” Antoinette could not contain her joy as she gushed, after coach Stefani announced her as the victor. “I am so happy.
