@James ... Paul called it "slander" in Romans 3 for those who accused him of preaching against Torah obedience ending with what is written in Romans 3:31. With what is written in Romans chapter 3 it is easy to understand that anyone interpreting everything else Paul wrote about Torah to suggest otherwise have misinterpreted what Paul wrote or was implying. I have two examples although there are plenty, but I will only give one: Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes;” in the Greek definition for “law of righteousness” this is found [Strong’s 1343] “in a narrower sense, justice or the virtue which gives each his due.” For me this definition means “condemnation” and fits very well what Jesus said in John 3:18; therefore more CORRECTLY interpreted or translated Romans 10:4 COULD read this way “For Christ is the end of the condemnation of the law to everyone that believes.” - Torah obedience [the moral teachings] was not done away when we received Jesus as Lord and Savior, and what is written in Jeremiah 31:31-33 [description of the New Birth] agrees. If Torah was done away in Christ then why would God write it in our heart? The answer is that Torah remains but only the “moral code” that defines “holiness;” what God requires of us. What is written here is not legalism or dead religion, it is bound in the “Relationship” God requires us to have with Him to receive eternal life. The Holy Spirit will NEVER tell us to do or say anything contrary to the moral code found in Torah; Jesus lived it and we a commanded to live it, having left us the example to follow in His steps.
