Jammu 2nd AUGUST, 2013:- A women function of J&K National Conference held at Sher –I- Kashmir Bhawan Jammu today under the Chairmanship of Smt. Bimla Luthra MLA and Sh. Rattan Lal Gupta State Vice President J&K National Conference was the Chief Guest . In the function Sewing machines and Electric presses were distributed among the poorest women’s. Addressing the gathering Sh. Rattan Lal Gupta said the role of great women leaders could not be forgotten who played a great role in the freedom struggle and now they are working for the building of Nation. National Conference always committed for the cause of the women in the state for which Madre- e- Mehraban played a great role for the self-respect and dignity of the women folk in the state. The state government has given 33% reservations to the women in the gross root level democratic institution such as Panchayats and local bodies so that the women can play their role for the developmental activities of their respective areas. The UMEED Progamme is also women oriented programme under this initiative 90,000 women self help groups to be provided with a livelihood opportunities by the NRLM. Like wise under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Jenab Omar Abdullah coalition government has taken up number of women welfare schemes in the state . While addressing the gathering Smt. Bimla Luthra MLA asserted that the National Conference is committed for equitable development of all the three regions of the state and especially focusing to the development and welfare of Women folk . She said that she always fight for the cause of the women in the legislative assembly and in other forums. Smt. Bimla Luthra distributed 40 sewing machines and accessories out of her CDF to the poorest of the poor women of Bishnah Block so that they earned their livelihood . Smt. Bimla Luthra said that I have adopted the guidelines and foot prints of our great and beloved leader Madre- e- Mehraban to serve the humanity. She appealed the gathering to work hard for the strengthening of National Conference and its leadership. Those who were present: - Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Provincial Secretary, S.S Bunty Provincial President YNC, Rajesh Bakashi District President Jammu Urban , Ayub Malik , Vijay Luthra , Veena Oberoi , Satwant Kour ( Satya ) , Dilshada Malik , Rano, Radha , Bharti and others.
