Jammu and Kashmir Board ofSchoolEducation today ruled outmass promotionand decided to hold the annualexaminationsfor class 10th and 12th ofKashmir Divisionon time.The examinations of class10th and 12th(regular candidates) will beheld well in timeand there will be no masspromotion, aspokesman of the Board said.He said the decision was takenat a meetingheld under the chairmanshipof Minister forEducation and PublicEnterprises PeerzadaMohammad Syeed here today.The spokesman saidthreadbare discussionswere held with regard tovarious issues andit was decided that the datefor submission ofadmission-cum-examinationforms for theclasses 10th and 12th regularcandidates ofKashmir Division has beenextended up toOctober 14.The meeting also decided thatthere will besingle paper scheme for thetwo classes.However, there will be amplechoice to thestudents in coming Secondaryand HigherSecondary annual examinationfor Kashmirdivision, he added.Peerzada appealed to theparents not to payheed to the rumours regardingmasspromotion of students andsend their wardsto schools regularly in order tocomplete thesyllabus.He also directed the teachingand non-teaching staff for conductingextra classes.
