Jan 19: Amid the buzz that PDP will form government in JK with BJP support, Congress Monday said that people of Kashmir will not approve of such arrangement. Former Minister and senior Congress leader Taj Mohiuddin told CNS that PDP-BJP coalition government will not prove good for the people of Kashmir as it is a known fact that BJP pursues anti-Kashmiri agenda. “People of Kashmir voted for regional parties to keep BJP at bay. How can people approve such government which will be run directly by Bhartiya Janata Party,” Taj said adding that it is mere a gimmick that PDP will persuade New Delhi to approve more and more funds for development. “I have been Minister for 12 long years and I can tell you with authority that Centre never provides extra help and funds. PDP will be extra lucky if BJP led government at Centre provides it unlimited funds,” Taj said. He said that it is a wrong notion that Centre will stop funding if PDP did not forge an alliance with BJP. “It is the obligation of the Centre to assist State as we are having a federal structure,” he said but added that Modi-led government is not sincere towards the people of Kashmir. “It was the duty of the Centre to help flood victims but it blocked the funds and left flood victims at the mercy of God,” he said. Responding to a question, former Health Minister said the consequences of alliance with BJP should be seen by PDP as there are chances that this party will lose its credibility in case it forms government with BJP. He admitted that PDP showed cold response to the offer of support extended by Congress.
