Jana and I are now into our second week learning about looking after our plantation home (near the beach about 100kms north of Rio). Next week Gino (owner) leaves for Europe indefinitely and we are on our own!! We now open invitations to any friends who would like to spend some time here (free accommodation and trips to Saquarema beach) in exchange for some help on the plantation :) First photo shows about half the plantation of coconut and lime trees - the other half is over the hill to the left. The second photo is the work we have been doing each morning - clearing around each lime tree before we fertilize and collect fruit. The next 2 are around the main residence and associated residence (there is also one more self contained mini-house around the corner). Then there is a photo of little ducklings born yesterday on the property. Finally a picture of us with Gino wringing sweat from our drenched clothes after a morning of physical work.
