January 17, 2015, Dan Zenger and I (and our families) had a A Celebration of Life party to mark the 7th anniversary of our Liver transplant. 7 years ago at 12:01 a.m., I was admitted to UPMC hospital to be ready for a 12 hour surgery where 65% of my liver was removed and transplanted into Dan. This day is a Celebration of Life for us. I now consider Dan and his family (Heather, Tyler and Connor) family. Consider designating ‘Organ Donor’ on your driver’s license, you are never too old! You can also donate blood, sign up to be a bone marrow donor, or if you are able, become a Living Donor by altruistically giving a kidney (you have two) or part of your liver to someone who needs a transplant. We are here to help each other. Celebrate Life!
