January 19, 2014 Sermon Title: “Broken Roads” Sermon Series: “Making Love Last a Lifetime” Scripture: Psalm 40:1-5. (NIV) Hi folks, One of my favorite movies is Forest Gump. There are many aspects of that movie that has endeared it to its watchers, but one of the reasons I enjoy it has to do with the wisdom that is shared in such simple and understandable ways. Forest’s mom was right when she said, “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what youre gonna get.” That truth is one that most of us recognize in our hearts but sometimes struggle to get firmly lodged in our heads. There is no real way to fully prepare ourselves for some of the twist and turns of life, and at times even our best made plans run out of road… or are detoured through places we would never dream we would go. This Sunday, we will journey through some troubled and desolate spots in our relationships seeking to experience how God brings hope and life to our most broken roads.
