January 5, 2015 Grace For Today Good News For The Oppressed He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for His own glory. Isaiah 61:2 & 3 Every believer is chosen by God for holy purposes. Yes, you are chosen for a divine destiny! Part of the journey is highlighted by the Favor of God. Or, the Grace of God. Favor is defined Something done or granted out of good will rather than for justice… and not out of remuneration (do not earn it). Favor also is described as preferential treatment. Why has God chosen to favor you and me? He longs to bring hope and love to those who are oppressed. God flows through us words of power and creativity. Every day is a tapestry of woven goodness that God wants to share with everyone. Many around us have had the god of this world blind them to God’s goodness and love. They mourn in a state of despair or hopelessness. As we open our mouth and give testimony of God’s mercy and grace there is opportunity for the great exchange to happen for the oppressed. You and I stand as the righteousness of God in Christ. Today is the day the Lord has made… let us go forth knowing we have His favor upon our life. PRAYER: Father God, thank You for placing favor upon my life. The wonder of Your love has been splashed all over and around me! Everywhere I look there is mercy and goodness straight from Your heart. Use me today to share with the oppressed that bound by loss and failure. May my life be a living testimony of the greatness of your grace, in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
