January 6, 2015 For immediate release: Bayonne Opens Two Warming Centers Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the City of Bayonne is opening two warming centers on Wednesday, January 7, due to the severely cold weather that is expected. The two centers are the Fire House Recreation Center at 597 Broadway (near 27th Street) and the 56th Street Senior Center (at 56th Street and Avenue B). The two sites will be available from 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7. Mayor Davis said, “These two locations will provide people in need an opportunity to stay warm. The City of Bayonne is happy to assist our residents on this cold winter day.” The warming stations will be managed by the Bayonne Division of Recreation. Additional weather-related announcements will be made as needed throughout the winter.
