Japan sign $17.3 million deal for Health and Education Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Ryuichi Shoji explained the health sector grant will be used to procure medical equipment and devices of high quality made by Japanese small and medium enterprises. They would be distributed to all states in Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Health. In relation to the construction of schools in Oyo State, Shoji said, Oyo State School Project aims to improve access to primary education and the school environment of Nigeria by constructing classrooms and other school facilities. The grant will be used to construct a total of 86 buildings made up of 263 classrooms in different local government areas of Oyo State in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission. The Minister of National Planning Commission Abubakar Sulaiman, who signed on behalf of the Federal Government said, These grants will complement our efforts in education and health and enhance our capacity to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) targets.
