"Jasper — Tracy Wyman, a 2013 graduate of the University of Florida with a BLA degree in landscape architecture has been working on a project for the town of White Springs called the aquiPROJECT, ‘a design to raise awareness of the waters which run beneath our feet’. Wyman said she has been working on the project for a year and a half, using the town of White Springs as a possible site to begin her project. The aquiPROJECT is a design that explores an approach to landscape architecture that engages the community in the making of art in public places along an art walk, as well as raises awareness of the state’s water issues. The design relates to the town’s history, folk culture and a vision for revitalization, as well as establishes a plan for the expanding project to be comprised of the work of individuals in art/ecoliteracy workshops across the region. “The process gives participants a voice toward positive change as a unified social call for the conservation of the Floridan Aquifer System,” said Wyman. White Springs Mayor Helen Miller said Wyman is scheduled to come back to White Springs this summer to work with the kids in the H.O.P.E. Summer Program and experiment with her ideas."
