Jay Shri Krishna 30/1/2014. One thing that attracts our attention the most in regard to Shruti ( Vedic Literature), is the Prayers our Rishis have offered in it. As such there are many aspects that ask for reference. The most important one is, the Prayers are addressed to the System, to the Brahman, and not to the individual Deity, and they are for collective good. Nowhere have we found the Shantipath for personal benefit or personal gain. They are for the goodness of entire Nature, for all beings. This was the reason that prayers were answered and accepted. This was the reason that, during that Vedic Period, the average life span of an individual was considered to be 100 years, and there almost was no occasion when son died prior to the demise of the father. When you desire the common good, the whole world desires with you. It multiplies the energy for the attainment of success of that desire. Desires that lead to sorrows are wrong and those which lead to happiness are right. But you must recognize the sorrows and happiness of others also. Not only Rishis but any righteous man was able to establish contact with the system, the Cosmic Energy. We know that king Shantnu pleased by sacrifice, gave Vardaan to his son Devvrat to have the Ichha Mrityu. It can happen today also. The Vardaan of father can be binding force on Nature today also. Only thing we need to observe is to make desires that are for common good only. Don’t wait for persons to join you; each individual must start immediately at his or her level. That is the way of a Sadhu, of a straightforward man. May God bless to invoke that Sadhuness in each being.
