My 3rd grader received her laptop yesterday. She couldnt carry it in the laptop bag because it pulls her to one side and is heavy. So I got her a backpack that can carry a laptop, and on the walk to school this morning (which is a couple of blocks) she was complaining about how heavy it is and it pulls her back. The laptops these 3rd graders are getting are the same ones the older kids get. They are not getting the smaller ones like I thought they would. How does the school expect for these 3rd graders to carry these things. Why cant we have an option to where the computer can be left locked in the classroom and not brought home. I have a computer at home that my 3rd grader can use to do her work on. I feel like having my growing 3rd grader carry this thing around can cause damage to her bones, back, growth plants and so on. Backpacks for the younger kids are not made big enough to carry a laptop. So we go with a bigger one which is to big and pulls on them which can cause health issues down the road.
