Jazz History Corner: He didnt get as much attention in the US because he expatriated to Europe (as many American Jazz musicians did) but Dexter Gordon was one of the finest tenor sax players ever. Many people were introduced to him and his music when he starred in the brilliant French film, Round Midnight, where he played a troubled Jazz Musician who strikes up a close friendship with a French photographer.
