Je suis hyper-Charlie. Je le suis vivement. Forty-eight hours (and counting) of unspeakable horror and tragedy in France unleashed by murderous lunatics intent on muzzling freedom. Two hostage standoffs ongoing and French media are reporting that President Francois Hollande has hardly slept in two days. Hes been rolling from crisis meeting to crisis meeting. Right now, hes in another meeting... The way the President of France is handling the situation provides sufficient reasons for impeachment if you ask me. This is no time for him to be in France, consoling and comforting his people while personally presiding over the dispositions and the apparatuses of the French state in the gallant effort to catch the murderers. This is the time to find a previously-planned foreign trip and rush out of France in two or three presidential jets to be on top of the situation at home from abroad. This is the time to attend a regional anti-terrorism summit of European leaders convened by, say, President Mahama of Ghana. This is the time for his aides to unleash social media lunatics on the public sphere to market the claim that he needs not be in France to personally lead these unfolding efforts. In fact, he needed not have visited Charlie Hebdo on the day of the attack. What did that visit achieve? President Hollande ought to be on top of this situation from Accra. Just saying...
