Jen and I are going to be selling our parents house. Ive got virtually nothing done it seems. And to be honest, were just going to need some help. Im going to take off a week (the week after next?) and try to get rid of as much stuff as I can so I can get in a good place to have people help us. What needs done you ask? Painting (nice really high vaulted ceilings. Thanks Dad for that nice building design) Re- sanding windowsills and re staining them. Ripping out carpet/padding Drywall repair A little electrical (Cap off some wires that are dangling, change a few light fixtures) Empty out the scary shed (It has spiders. Eek!) Clean out the flower beds Lay out new carpeting/laminate flooring Dump runs Light bulb changing (Again, high ceilings. Darn it Dad!) Im trying to do this as cheap (but yet nice) as possible. To give you the scoop on finances. I have about 7000 dollars left in my emergency money, but I owe 10k in property tax, and some credit debt from hooking up to sewer. Im trying to consolidate that into a loan so I dont get something cute, like a lien on my house while trying to sell it. If I have any money left over, I want to try to fix up the kitchen a little, nothing major- but something that will help up the price on the house. So if you got invited to this group- it might be because you have a skill that Jen and I dont have, tools that we dont have, or we just like you, and want you for grunt work ;) We cant pay you in money, but we can pay you in coffee, food, beer, etc. We dont have a date set yet to start- Im just trying to get a group of people we can call on when we do need help. One thing for sure. Jen and I are blessed. We have good friends, and people that love us very well. Its been a long crazy journey that Jen and I have been on, and we couldnt do it without our friends. Love you guys! Jamie (And Jen- Ill sign her name to this!) :D
