Jennifer Cutting: I was amused to hear one of my favorite Playford dance tunes, Parsons Farewell, as background music tonight on the Starz pirate drama _Black Sails_...played on a mandolin, no less. I first heard it in 1982 from my favorite English band, Pyewackett ( Bill Martin, Rosie Cross, Ian Blake), and later, learned it myself.
