Never been a fan of Lucio Tans management skills. Under his watch PAL turned from Asias first airline to a perennially bankrupt and notorious Plane Always Late (at least until Cebu Pacific came along and made tardiness the norm). But under Ramon Ang and San Miguel Corp., punctuality and service improved, new aircraft were added (with dozens more in the pipeline), and its financial state is much healthier. Even the in-flight magazine is much better. Now Lucio Tan has bought back PAL, and his team is already reducing, delaying, or outright canceling orders for the remaining new aircraft. I shudder at the future of PAL under his new ownership..
