Jenny has finally allowed me out of my cone of digital silence for a few moments before we make the long journey home tomorrow afternoon. Here are a few things I have learned: 1. I can go almost 2 weeks without connecting via cell or email. Small miracle. 2. It is possible to be so connected that you are disconnected from the people who should matter the most to you. Today of all days, (9/11) should cause all of us to pause to recalibrate these priorities. 3. Beach vacations are much cheaper and less crowded after Labor Day. Best vacation ever! 4. Roku TV is a must have on vacation (we brought ours). We have thoroughly enjoyed evening family marathon/binges of The Cosby Show, Murder She Wrote, Mork & Mindy, Brady Bunch, etc. Plus we watched FBC services live in HD quality via Roku on our TV too. 5. Fellowship can get along just fine without me. Thanks to a great staff who did not call or email me once but handled everything in my absence. Thank you all! Now back to my cone of silence.
