Jerry Ash Introducing the Next Mother Jones During my years of research, reflection and writing of Hellraiser — Mother Jones: An Historical Novel, a mantra appeared. We need another Mother Jones. The second book is underway. In Hellraiser: Molly and Mother Jones the spirit of Mother Jones of old returns to become the mentor of a new MoJo (Molly Jones) to fight once more against the tyranny of todays unrestrained capitalism and for social, political and economic justice in contemporary America where exploitation of the poor working class and the assault on democratic principles by capitalistic greed is even worse than the worst of the Industrial Revolution. Access is free and you can ride into the new novel right along with the new MoJo, driving her original Volkswagen Beetle she calls Miss Lumpy because it was roughly restored a few years ago from the town dump. The new Mother Jones starts out in the novel as a working single mother of three children. She has two part time jobs, one at a fast food chain and another in a Big Box supermarket. Like the original Mother Jones, she loses her entire family. In this case the loss is not due to yellow fever but to capitalistic greed. Youll see. I am also looking for volunteers to be beta readers as the subsequent chapters unfold. The new novel will be a collaborative project. These volunteers will receive drafts of chapters as they are written. They will read, review, suggest revisions and suggest content for future chapters as the story unfolds. You are invited to provide feedback on these first two chapters. Then, if you are interested, volunteer to be a beta reader throughout the writing of the book.
