So lets have a quick review. No matter what you may have heard about HEALTHCARE... here are the facts... There are two ways of applying for coverage. If you do not qualify for a subsidy or a special enrollment period, we will go direct to the insurance company. Otherwise we will go thru the government site for you and then shift you over to the health insurance company. Sounds easy... but it is not. Pre-existing conditions WILL BE COVERED if they are normally covered under the new very comprehensive policies. You will NOT be turned down for health issues. You MUST in the US legally. $$$ is available to help pay your premiums. YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED! Dont walk away from this just because you cant afford it. To get $$$$, a single person MUST anticipate earning no less than $11,490 in 2014 (before taxes) to get a subsidy. The income allowance numbers are very generous. You do NOT pay a dime to an agent for helping you!!!! Nor does it cost you anything more in the long... as long as that agent is licensed to sell health insurance as well as be certified to navigate the new HEALTHCARE REFORM system. MONDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO APPLY. The next opportunity is late this year during open enrollment for a Jan 1, 2015 effective date. Special Events... like a new job, income change, loss of group coverage, new baby, marriage, etc... affect your chance at changing or getting coverage during the other times of the year.
