Jerry and I have two precious daughters and seven adorable grandchildren. Of coarse our oldest grandson is now a grown man and married, but I’m Grandma and can still call him adorable if I want to! I thank God for the family He has given us and I’m amazed at how much we can learn about God’s character through the family unit. In fact, I believe the highest calling of parents is to demonstrate and reveal the nature of God to their children. If you’re going to teach your family anything about God, you must teach them about the greatest expression of His character—His love. The apostle Paul prays in Ephesians 3:18-19 (NIV) that we “may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. God has put a lot of thought into your life. You are special special, unique, and loved by God. Ephesians 2:10 in The Amplified says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Even before we were born again, God had already mapped out and prearranged a life for us. What kind of a life? The good life. Jesus describe this good life in John 10:10 by saying, a “...better life than they ever dreamed of” (The Message). Just think of what God has planned and prearranged for you. What a good God we serve! This is not the concept that so many of God’s children have of Him. If the perception you have of God is not in agreement with His Word, then you’ll never enter into the fullness and best that God has for your life. First Corinthians 2:12 describes God’s love towards us declaring, “We have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor
