Jesus Christ had to become human in order to redeem Humanity. Humans have emotions. Multiple times Jesus displayed these emotions eg sadness, anger, compassion, joy etc. but there is one we say Jesus never displayed. That one is FEAR. But Nicardo how can you say that? Well here is my theory. While praying in the Garden of Gethsemane; in His prayer He asked the Father to let this cup pass. He feared not the cross….. but that He knew what would happen if He took all the sin of this world on Himself…. He would be separated from His Father! That is what sin does. It separates us from God. When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden (garden and sin – theme) he went into hiding. But God came looking for him… and He asked: Adam where are you? Not to say God doesn’t know anything. God knew what happened and He was still looking for him. He ran from God and not God from him. Same with us, when we sin we run from God because we think we aren’t good enough. That is why Jesus died to take our sins away, went down to hell to leave it where it belongs so that we could come into the presence of the Father. Now back to Jesus’ dilemma. He prayed until blood came down His head like sweat because He knew about a coming separation. That is what He feared most! Separation from His Father! And when He hung on that cross and asked God why He left Him hanging: “Eli Eli Labasabachtani”. It wasn’t that God left Him alone. It was the sin of the world that made it seem like God left Him! And I know it grieved the Father to see His Son not only because of the blood. But because His Son thinks He left Him on the cross. Jesus’ greatest emotion as a human ‘fear’; Separation from the Father! Adam separated; Jesus reconciled!
