Jesus H. That is flippin horrendous news. Yes the ball is hard, yes people get injured but this is unprecedented .... this NEVER happens in cricket. Normally I hate using clichés like .... It puts everything into perspective .... but it does. With the knowledge that tragic freak events like this can happen at any time, causing so much pain, why do some people persist in behaviour which is entirely inappropriate in every day life. Why do some people in positions of authority not have a different set of priorities. Concentrate on making life better for all concerned .... not worse. Be kinder to people instead of being obsessed with pound signs and status and a reputation for being No Nonsense ( Coded language for `Tit` in my estimation ). It`s not going to help Phil Hughes now but with the knowledge that we have, but often choose to ignore or bury in the back of our minds, that life is too short, can we not bear in mind that there is a bit more to contend with in life, in terms of difficulties, than someone like .... say a motivational speaker might dare to admit ( it might cost them money you see ). That`s not me being negative .... just realistic. You have to be a positive person all the time .... the typical mantra of the motivational speaker ( Coded language for `Con-man` in my estimation ). Thanks for telling me how to think mate. I`m very grateful. Is it not okay for me to feel sad today ? cos this young Test cricketer has died in such absolutely desperately tragic circumstances. I reckon Phil Hughes`s family and friends are finding it pretty difficult to be positive right now .... understandably. Sad things happen .... regularly. No point pretending otherwise but can we just behave a little better towards each other ( Me included by the way .... I`m not that self-righteous ) in the knowledge that we never know what`s round the corner or what will pull the rug away next. If all of that sounds somewhat bitter and slightly left wing .... well .... it`s because I am .... and I`m not ashamed to admit it. But it came from the heart. Anyway .... RIP Phil Hughes
