Jesus, The Liberator, Described His Vision of a Righteous Kingdom ! Part 31 Weve had a long vacation to celebrate Christmas and this New Year. Working days are up ahead. Have we identified each ones way to contribute to the realization of the vision of Jesus for His Righteous Kingdom ? We should because genuine believers in God are the ultimate beneficiaries of that kingdom. Once identified, we have to also program the best way to become successful with doing our share of work for the building of a better world. I salute all the programmers who are very good at being patient with producing something that functions to expedite completions of activities and reports. Each one, even if not a programmer by profession, should take a similar discipline to find ways and means to get things done to serve priorities for the common good. Whats the connection of these thoughts on work to fulfillment of Gods Will? First, let me present what God Himself taught. It is in fact in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) where God said: Exodus 20: 9 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. And it was St. Paul who clarified that our works should serve the common good that pleases God, in order for us to be blessed in the process. St. Paul said: 1 Corinthians 12:6-8 Spiritual Gifts Bestowed …6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;........ God did not mean only spiritual gifts should be utilized for the common good. Here is proof that He wants people with talents for the material world to provide for the greatest form of worship, which my earlier messages disclosed to be obedience to His Will. The following verse is just one example. Exodus 28:3 Tell all the skilled workers to whom I have given wisdom in such matters that they are to make garments for Aaron, for his consecration, so he may serve me as priest. Perhaps today, priests have little or no problem with clothing to wear. Priests and Pastors have problems with fulfilling their leadership mission which does not end with just praying to God for people. Jesus forewarned us all with His Words: Matthew 5:20 (Common English Bible) 20 I say to you that unless your righteousness is greater than the righteousness of the legal experts and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. And so nowadays, the reality we all have to face is in the way we serve the common good, the masses, and especially the poor or poverty stricken. There are very many people experiencing different types of scarcity. Millions have no homes, are malnourished or eating dirty food, no dignified way of earning a living for their families and children, no education. Those with shanties in urban areas are being driven away from the only shelter they have and being sent to far away places where there is little business to depend on. Pope Francis is coming ! So the government covered many poverty stricken places so he cannot see them when he comes. This is not a solution to the poors miseries. We have to think of a program that works. We all have to play a role in that program. Our works should be pleasing to the Lord in accordance with the Will of God and not the will of wise guys whose motives are none other than their greed. Matthew 5:3 (NIV) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This 2015, let us find ways and means to utilize our talents to be in harmony with the calling of our times to bless the poor as we work diligently in keeping with the commands.
