Jesus bore the shame, guilt and despair of lack of worldly respect and honor with no glad recognition. Jesus bore the shame of doing it God’s way by the Scriptures in the face of facts that shouted God was not there and would not help, and that God had forsaken Him. Jesus bore the shame and fear of not meeting men’s standards to acceptance, respect, love and honor as He stood in God’s path. Jesus was made naked not only in clothes, but in power and strength. He was made shame for shame in all its forms. Jesus bore the shame for the human race where each one of us fails to continually manifest and demonstrate the glory of God. Jesus bore it and become its curse that we might have His glory. All of this is included in the term “healed.” Isa 53:7 “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”
