Jesus gave His disciples a trustworthy promise that if we stick to His side and stay tight to God’s will, that our lives and our efforts will bear fruit. He said in John 15:4-5, Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. When we remain in Jesus – when we trust God by turning to the Holy Spirit for guidance and to His Word for truth – you and I will bear fruit … whether we see it or not. A person of faith believes God’s promises because His promises are connected to His character. God’s promises aren’t flippant. They’re secure! Understanding this promise sure does help me to trust God more. And further, knowing that our faithfulness will directly impact how much fruit will be produced should challenge us to remain faithful! All of the promises of our Covenant God are “Yes” and “Amen”. We can trust His Word to be true because the character of our God is unblemished. God is too good to b unkind. So when you can’t understand When you don’t see His plan, When you can’t trace His hand, Trust His heart. God is too wise to be mistaken!!!
