Jesus knocked on my door this morning with two cups of coffee in - TopicsExpress

Jesus knocked on my door this morning with two cups of coffee in his hand, I opened the door still wearing my Ohio State shirt, Cmon in Jesus, and thanks for the coffee. Your welcome GT, quite a game for your team last night, isnt it fun when your team is an underdog and then they win big? Sports is unique in that it can teach people things about fighting against the odds, never giving up, working together, believing in yourself, and in your teammates. It is fun to win, but I have to tell you the real lessons are in losing. For it is in losing that you are forced to examine yourself, to take stock, to ask yourself questions that your ego would not allow yourself to ask before you lost. I chuckled and said, Maybe J.C, but I would rather be celebrating a win this morning then analyzing why my team lost, whats that saying? Winning isnt everything, but losing isnt anything. Jesus smiled, GT, that is the dumbest saying I have ever heard, losing gives birth to winning, and winning is highly overrated, in fact... it is the end of something, losing is the start of something. It is ironic we are talking about this, today is December 7th, 73 years ago today your country suffered the ultimate loss, it threw a generation into war and chaos, how do you think your Father and Mother felt that Sunday? Fear lived in many a heart, whole nations trembled, my Dad received more prayers that day then he had in decades. War takes winning and losing to a whole new level, but in something that large, something that tragic, great things are born, Pearl Harbor gave birth to gifts that could not be given without massive loss. Losing, no matter if it is in war, or football, or a card game, sows the seeds to get better, to rise above the norm. Here is another of lifes secrets, one has to lose in order to win. The bigger the loss, the more one has to gain. It is only when people become so absorbed in their loss that they block the benefits, that they forfeit their gifts. GT, it is so easy to do, it is hard to convince people that loss can be good. Just ask those families who lost someone 73 years ago, or even though it is just sport, ask someone who plays football for Wisconsin, when people experience loss they cant see anything but the dark, and I am here to tell you today, that all loss is the start of new and glorious beginnings. Jesus walked up to my Ohio State flag, touched it, smiled at me, and walked out. ( Another Sunday in Horton Bay)
