Jesus said in John 4:35, Say not ye, There are yet four months, - TopicsExpress

Jesus said in John 4:35, Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. There was a time (years ago) when soul-winning was a seasonal thing for us. We had a number of scheduled outreaches each year that fit comfortably into the framework of our other Church stuff. We might do a food outreach one month; then we would reach out to our neighborhood another; another month we would travel to a place like New Orleans from Texas to witness at a big event like Mardi Gras. Then something happened... We realized that the day in which we lived was growing increasingly evil and the time for people to repent and believe got shorter each and every day. These were desperate times. John 9:4 says, We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. Winning the lost, evangelism, outreach ministry (however your term it) is no longer just something that we do when its on the schedule - it is our schedule. Everything else works around it. We have found that when we prioritize the thing that Jesus prioritized (He came only to seek and to save that which was lost), then He enables us to also to the others. Preaching in our church (CrossLife Fellowship), teaching the Word of God, equipping the saints, counseling, discipling, etc.., I do those things and enjoy them - but at the end of the day - snatching souls from the jaws of eternity stands as our top responsibility. When you see a person pass from death unto life as they come to the knowledge of Christ, repent of their sins and express their faith in the finished work of the cross for their salvation - you realize just how huge, how powerful and how valuable our redemption is! Thank you for standing with us in His Kingdom work. The 17th of this months is our 10th Anniversary of leaving our church in Texas to come to the harvest fields of New Orleans. It has been both a challenging and enormously gratifying decade I must say. Please continue to stand with us in prayer and also consider investing your missions gift into the ministry this week. Examine the fruit, test the commitment and determine the worth of your investment. Give in accordance to what you see and its value in regards to eternity. Many blessings!
