Jet skis do not ride themselves ...so we need training & licensing of jet ski riders and operators and stiffer fines and penalties for violators and for GOD sakes take these personal watercrafts, as they are formally called, out of the watersports category and put them in a section that ensures that whoever is contacting them for rental provides a copy of his/her drivers license and security deposit...or procure same with an international drivers license which should allow for some life insurance coverage, because jet skis (personal watercrafts) are dangerous and not toys... We operate them like playthings...just because they create employment but irresponsibility should be without a job or how will responsibility get one?....and this is on the two sides of the coin because some of these Tourists who come to our small island talk down to us, as it is like we are not to be telling them about how to operate a jetski, coming from the big city and all, and they know who they are, to the stage that from what I gather, it is impossible to issue the proper instructions they need and this is not saying that everybody is not at faulty but with behaviorism like that then who will be encouraged to drive away patronage with an operators guide? And the rest is history because attitudes are catching so to secure a rental then one will endeavour to do what is appealing to the Lessor (Rentee) and that was when the breakdown started....No excuse but everybody including our valued visitors will have to work on saving our own lives..as if innocent lives were not being losts then we wouldnt notice and if the jet ski rentals do not cooperate then shut the whole lot down, so that everybody losers their bread when one bad apple spoils the lot....let them learn to protect their own earnings. I would want to see anything I am doing be so impressionable if I am associated with it so I feel good about myself and others....Thats a good Karma to have in such an operational activity. Ski well now, as you might have saved a Life when you save your own!
