Jihad means struggle . Struggle to be good . Jihad is the most misused word today . Wrong! The Koran contains 164 verses about Jihad. These verses deal with waging war, military expedition, fighting, or distributing war booty. The Jihad Salman Khan talks about could be taken from the early Mecca verses, or verses of peace when Muhammad tried to gain conversions through peaceful means. Unfortunately when Muhammad was exiled and went to Mecca the peaceful verses were abrogated by violent verses. Abrogation is a reoccurring topic whenever verses of the Koran are discussed. Jihad is taking part in a war to further Islam. -kg-
