Lets say for arguments sake I were to help you with this, how do you expect me to convince the brightest witch of our year to fall for the likes of you? Sirius winked behind James back so that only Remus knew exactly what he meant. Oh fine. Ill do it. That was how Remus found himself being yelled at by the fiery Lily Evans. Not you too Remus! I thought you had more self respect. What kind of man are you hanging out with those two? At least Peter I can understand his needy behavior but you? This is low. You are a good man. You shouldnt be with those two trolls. They are trouble makers. They arent any good and there is nothing you can say that will change my mind. Im very disappointed in you and Im never EVER going out with him. Remus stood up and began to walk away but the beast inside him would not be silenced. You know, Lily, you should be proud that a man like James is even interested in you. You think hes a snobby, self centered git? Well you are right! But at least he owns it. He could be snobby because hes pure blood. Self centered because hes rich. But no! Hes that way because he thinks is smart and good looking. And you cant say he isnt. And you think he is a bad person because he plays pranks? They never really hurt anyone and hes always sorry when they do. Snape picks fights just as much as James does. He likes you, and hes willing to throw his pride and dignity out the window to get me to beg you on his behalf. Hes smart and funny and hes a good man, pranks or not. In fifth year he became irreversibly changed for me, because I needed someone to be there for me. He is proud and boastful but only of his accomplishments. He never boasts that he is rich, the only heir of a well-respected line of pure bloods. He could have any girl he wants. Any pure blood girl too. But he wants a muggle-born because he finds her pretty and smart and shes too self-centered to see that hes a good person. If you ask me, you two are perfect for each other. Remus wanted to stomp away and make a dramatic exit but she grabbed his arm. He looked back to see her bottom lip trembling slightly, her eyes down-cast and sad. Do you really think Im self-centered? Well since thats all you got from that speech I made... No! I didnt. I want to hear more about him being irreversibly changed. What do you mean? Remus hesitated, but she noticed and stuck her lip out. Hes....an animagus. Sirius, Peter and James became animals for me. What? Why? I...Im a werewolf! He blurted, unable to hold it in under her hard stare. For all her lip-trembling and pouting she was tough as nails and would chew him up and spit him out if he dared lie to her. Oh no! Really? You poor thing! That was not the reaction he was expecting... Um what? So what animal is he? Potter? Um go out with him and im sure hell tell you himself. Maybe even show you. Her eyes narrowed but her curiosity won over and she smiled at him. Alright, youve got a deal. One date to show me hes a good guy. But he better tell me! And with that she quickly turned away, her hair whipping side to side behind her making the dramatic exit he had hoped for. He sighed, but couldnt control the wolf-ish grin that overcame him as he thought of both their reactions when James had to blurt out that he was a deer, of all things. ~TA Dragonheartstrings
