Jim Rogers was the first reader ever in the ”New and Nearby” series when it began six years ago and has looked after it ever since. A poet and essayist, his chapbook Sundogs was published in 2006, and he’s been read on Garrison Keillor’s “Writers Almanac.” Last year, one of his nonfiction works was named a “notable essay of the year” in Best American Essays. He returns to the Trotters podium as a reader on the occasion of the release of his new book about cemeteries, Northern Orchards: Places Near the Dead, just published by North Star Press of St Cloud.
