Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Understanding or the knowledge of God or knowing God is DIRECTLY connected to following His precepts, to obeying Him, to walking in the opposite direction of evil. We cannot continue to do evil and claim to know God. To KNOW GOD is TO DEPART FROM EVIL! 1 John 2:4 Whoever says, I know him, but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 1 John 1:6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. ◄ Proverbs 3:5 ► Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. If we claim to know God, to be a God fearing man or woman, a godly person, a Christian and we are not departing from evil then we are only deceiving ourselves. And this not in outward acts alone but from a heart that is changed. Inward transformation causing outward manifestation. Christ died not to cover all of our filthiness under His righteousness but to cleanse us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS! The Word of God proclaims the truth, I pray that we will not be to proud to receive it as such. Proverbs 16:6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD evil is avoided. ◄ 2 Timothy 2:19 ► Nevertheless, Gods solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and, Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.
