Job Opportunity (Brooks Automation) Job Title: Materials Planner (Logistics & Material Planner) Employment Type:Regular, Full-time Location: Singapore Job Description: This is a combined logistics and planning role within the Brooks Global Services (BGS) organization of Brooks Automation, and primarily supports local repair operations and intercompany supply of materials supporting the South-East Asia area. It is positioned to support the current scope of Singapore operations as well as the planned expansion of in-country capabilities in the near future. We are seeking a talented, motivated, and assertive individual to handle materials planning activities in support of this business and other key initiatives. This position reports to the Asia Regional Supply Chain Manager. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of basic supply chain & logistics management concepts surrounding planning, demand management, procurement, inventory control and logistics and a proven track record of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities: Management of international materials supply; including management of customer repair and exchange inventory pools, materials support for field operations, scheduling of local repair work, release of work orders and purchase orders, coordinating with customer service and other departments to resolve any issues surrounding repairs, and preparation of related reports and analysis. Maintain regular communication with overseas operations and related Brooks personnel to ensure scheduled ship dates meet cycle time targets and customer expectations. Monitor, address, and escalate deviations accordingly. Must confidently represent Brooks and be capable of influencing counterparts. The planner will conduct regular production planning meetings and frequently organize, prepare, and present plans and analysis to management. Will engage in sales and operational planning (S&OP) process and related meetings. Must be competent in the use of Oracle and Microsoft Excel in performing on a daily basis. This includes performing transactions, researching issues, collection of data and using it to produce useful information. Effectively utilize data and reports such as the open order backlog report to manage. Produce and maintain metrics or key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to overall planning effectiveness, and to understand and articulate trends. The planner will be expected to report on level of activity, on time delivery, and level of spend with our subcontractors relative service/repair and investigate/drive for potential cost reductions. Acts cross functionally in efforts to resolve problems relating to shortages, variances, or other impediments to smooth material flow through the factory. Is responsive to tactical issues such as urgent e-mails or customer requests requiring immediate attention. Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet customer serviceability and control working capital to meet financial objectives. This requires effective management of various types of inventory; raw materials, work in process, finished goods, refurbished, etc. Responsible for physical management and operation of local warehouse including materials receiving, storage, inventory control and shipping activities. May be required to provide additional support to other functions as required.
