Job Opportunity: Buyer The Purchasing Division of the General Services Department is seeking a skilled professional to fill one (1) full-time Buyer vacancy. The Buyer has responsibility for purchasing or negotiating to purchase items in both general and specialized commodity areas such as, equipment, materials, services, construction, data processing, petroleum, and medical supplies and equipment. Typical duties of the position include: performing purchasing services; conferring with departmental officials to determine needs; initiating and processing requisitions; following up on purchase orders to assure receipt of commodities; resolving problems concerning goods or billing; corresponding with vendors and sales; reviewing bids for legal correctness, price, and acceptability; negotiating contracts or agreements; maintaining purchase records; organizing, training, and reviewing the work of subordinate staff; and performing other related duties as required. $24.82 - $30.14 Hourly For more info about this and other exciting opportunities visit: yourpath2sonomacounty.org or call Sonoma County HR, 707-565-2331.
