Fugro Survey is a dynamic company, specialised in hydrographic and marine surveys. Projects are carried out for clients in the oil and gas industry, construction and dredging companies. Main services provided are positioning of rigs and vessels, and collection and interpretation of offshore survey data using acoustic equipment. Fugro Survey operate the dedicated survey vessel Geo Endeavour. Operations are executed mainly in frontier areas in Africa under challenging conditions. Fugro Survey is part of a business unit which includes offices in Leidschendam, Paris, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Angola and South Africa. HUMAN RESOURCES position Basic Function The Human Resources Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring that the company’s general employment policies, procedures and practices are relevant to the company’s needs and comply with all relevant legislation; acts as the focal point and support for human resources issues. 1. Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1.1 Human Resources Management a) Assist management with the implementation of the company’s policies and procedures and other legal requirements related to the HR function. b) Develop, update and implement all HR policies and procedures. c) Ensure implementation of relevant leave and legislative policies. d) Assist with Workmen’s Compensation Claims (COIDA) and Return of Earnings report. e) Manage Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Wellness programs. f) Collate and produce monthly newsletter. a) Focal point for queries and problems related to human resources issues. b) Preparation of employment offers and contracts. c) Maintain Terms and Conditions of employment in line with applicable legislation. d) Flag the validity of employment contracts to relevant managers. e) Advise on and arrange work permits required for FSAPL employment. f) Ensure leave policies are adequate and in line with legislative requirements. 1.1 Remuneration, Compensation & Benefits a) Administer and process monthly payroll using VIP Premier Payroll software. b) Manage the processing of all monthly work reports for payroll input. c) Flag changes to payroll, increases, input, terminations, reconciliations, salary journals and forecasts to Financial Controller. d) Act as main contact person for company brokers, as well as Discovery Health and Liberty Life. e) Ensure monthly tax and year end reconciliations (EMP 201 & 501) with SARS. 1.3 Staff Recruitment, Selection & Retention a) Administer recruitment and selection procedures, and strategies for retention of staff. b) Arrange application interviews, contacts with agencies and applications. c) Maintain relationships with universities and other institutions, and attend career fairs. 1.4 Employment Equity and Skills Development a) Preparation and submission of annual Employment Equity Report and Plan. b) Submit the Employment Equity Plans to the Department of Labour. c) Consult and give input into development of employment equity plans and serve as main contact for Employment Equity Steering Committee. d) Identify employment Equity quota requirements and advise on compliance to targets. e) Preparation and submission of annual Workplace Skills Report and Plan to the Department of Labour.. f) Identify training / skills / competency needs within the organization. g) Coordinate development and talent management in partnership with line management. h) Identify skills shortages and where there is need to improve and inform management. 1.5 Learning and Development g) Plan and co-ordinate induction training for new staff. a) Serve as contact point for Fugro Academy. b) Flag performance reviews and personal development interview. c) Identify and align competencies for each role in line with Partnership for Growth. 1.6 Industrial Relations a) Liaise and or meet with employees and management in order to: maintain (or regain) industrial harmony; and or give effect to and comply with all relevant labour legislation, determinations and awards. b) Support managers in the application of disciplinary and grievance procedures. c) Represent the company in internal and external dispute resolutions (e.g. CCMA). 1.7 Specific Additional Duties a) Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues. b) Ensure modifications on human resources are included in induction training of new staff. 2. Principal Working Relationships a) Work closely with Managing Director in human resources issues. b) Work within the global and regional HR team. c) Liaise with Financial Controller on salary, work reports, tax, and insurance issues. d) Support staff to address relevant human resources issues. position requirements a) B.Sc level or equivalent qualification in Human Resources Management. b) Minimum of 5 years Human Resources generalist experience in equivalent position. c) A working knowledge of South African labour legislation. d) A basic knowledge of Tax and other statutory legislation as it applies to remuneration. e) A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software. f) A working knowledge of payroll systems. g) English language. what we offer ·Provident fund scheme and medical aid contribution.
