It was in my most favorite book, The Book of Tea by Okakura Kakuzo and the ugliest foreword ever written, to me, was done by the editor, Everett F. Bleiler in 1964. The publisher is Dover Publications, Inc. New York. An excerpt from the introduction xvii ... the tea is a muddy, thick, gray liquid, made by suspending a powder in water, and it is necessary to brush the scum and dregs from the top before one can drink.
