Job Opportunity for CCSF Photography Students or recent graduates: About QCon: QCon is a software conference over 3 days that allows attendees to listen to over 100 speakers. On each of the 3 days, there are 5 parallel tracks (meeting rooms) with presentations throughout the day – changing speakers about every hour. We are expecting approximately 700 attendees this year. QCon SF 2013 will be at the Hyatt Embarcadero during November 11-13 (Mon-Wed). sanfranciscoregency.hyatt/en/hotel/home.html The first presentation on each day starts around 8:30 am. On Monday, the educational program ends about 7 pm, whereas on Tuesday and Wednesday, it ends about 6 pm. Evening programs are as follows: Monday: Conference party @ Thirsty Bear: 7:30 pm – 11pm Tuesday: Speaker Dinner @ Sens Restaurant (attached to the Hyatt): 7 pm to 11 pm More information can be found at: qconsf About the Photo Assignment: We are looking for 2 to 3 photography students or recent graduates from Bay Area photography schools who can share the work. The purpose of the photo graphs is to document the conference, so that we have photos to market the next conference and to email to each speaker as a “thank you” for participating. • Several “action photos” of each speaker (as he/she is talking at the podium) • Several general conference photos (people talking in the hallway, people sitting in conference rooms, people networking – try to show full rooms and well-attended sessions) • Several photos of each keynote presentation, showing: o The speaker (s) o The audience (preferably shots with a full auditorium) • Several photos of every exhibitor • Photos of the social events (Exhibitor reception, conference party, speaker dinner) Throughout the day, we would like for you to come back to the registration desk/ staff office regularly and hook up your camera (please bring your camera-to-computer cable), so that we can download photos already taken. We share these throughout the day with the speakers, many of who post them on their Facebook page. About the Photo Equipment: You need to own and bring your own equipment: • DLSR Camera with Muti-Purpose Lens (i.e. “Wedding Lens”) • Flash • Camera-to-computer cable for downloading or a card-reader • Batteries/Charger • Optional: Tripod • Optional: Extra lenses • Optional: Flash filters/ covers About Payment: We will pay $300 for each 8 hours worked and we will provide lunch each day.
