Job Title: PROPERTY MANAGER Job Type: DIRECT HIRE Location: NY Post Date: 11/05/14 Salary: 70K/YEAR Detailed Job Description: The Director of Real Estate Development is responsible for directing all of the organization housing and mixed use development activities and overseeing asset management of the real estate portfolio. S/he reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer. The Director of Real Estate Development manages the departments budget. S/he sets housing related goals together with the CEO, Board of Directors and real estate development staff. S/he leads the Real Estate team in working closely with Community Engagement and Program staff to engage community residents in real estate projects and ensure that projects meet community needs. The Director of Real Estate Development has overall responsibility for the growth of the organizations real estate portfolio, supervises a Project Manager, initiates development activities, and directly manages projects. S/he will serve as a member of the senior management team. Responsibilities: 1. Experienced project manager and leaderskills and experience in leading a team, developing and maintaining a project pipeline, and managing and completing all aspects of projects within a tight budget and schedule. 2. Dedicated community developera demonstrated commitment to initiating and leading community-based development, and an interest in making a commitment to community development in low and moderate income neighborhoods in New York City. 3. Team coordinatorhands-on manager who can coordinate the activities of development team members, including architects, engineers, lawyers, and partners. 4. Strong senior manager and collaboratorability to take leadership within the organization and represent the organization as a senior team member, who communicates well and builds positive working relationships with a diverse set of staff members, partners, consultants, funders, and community members. 5. Goal oriented thinker and multi-taskerability to manage multiple projects and programs, and set clear priorities among tasks while staying focused on the ultimate goal. 6. Entrepreneurial and creative problem solver--entrepreneurial spirit plus comfort acting independently and creatively to solve problems. Qualifications: 1. B.A. in real estate development, city planning, business or related field; Masters degree preferred. 2. At least five - seven years of experience working in project development in a nonprofit, public agency or private development company. 3. At least two years of supervisory experience. 4. Strong analytical and organizational skills. 5. Familiarity with the financing sources used for large scale affordable housing development projects, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits. 6. Some knowledge of and experience with asset management. 7. Experience interacting with key public and private project development funders in New York City preferred. 8. Experience in community planning and public processes preferred. 9.
