Job Title: Workforce Development Project Coordinator* Closing Date/Time: Fri. 03/14/14 5:00 PM Pacific Time Salary: $26.86 - $34.28 Hourly $4,655.73 - $5,941.87 Monthly $55,868.80 - $71,302.40 Annually Job Type: Full-time Location: San Bernardino, California Print Job Information | Apply The Job Benefits Supplemental Questions The Department of Behavioral Health is recruiting for a Workforce Development Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of the Work Plan for the Southern Counties Regional Partnership in order to develop a culturally and linguistically competent, rehabilitation and recovery-oriented public mental health workforce. The Project Coordinator will supervise, consult, and work closely with members of the Southern Counties Regional Partnership, who represent a range of education and mental health organizations and community partners and will coordinate centralized Work Plan and program development activities. The Work Plan addresses areas such as: expanding the capacity of post-secondary education; work readiness in the classroom; multilingual and multicultural pipeline strategies; school-to-school career strategies; job retraining for mental health occupations; consumer and family member employment; licensing boards and professional recruitment; and rural strategies. *Official Title: Program Specialist II. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Work Schedule: Some positions in this classification may be assigned to a schedule of less than full-time (80 hours) per two-week pay period. Travel: This position will be located in San Bernardino and assigned to the Southern California region. Travel throughout Southern California will be required and employees may be required to make provisions for such transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. Minimum Requirements: Education: An Associates degree or equivalent completed coursework in behavioral/social science, business/public administration, liberal arts or education. A list of completed college coursework or legible copies of transcripts MUST be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess an Associates degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields listed above. Experience: Two (2) years of progressive responsibility managing agency-wide/large projects which included full responsibility for project coordination/facilitation, planning, implementation, and project outcomes/evaluation. Qualifying experience must be within a community health, mental health, public health, human services, workforce development, or educational organization. Equivalent qualifications may be given consideration, provided education and experience is commensurate with the responsibilities of this position. Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be familiar with mental health/social welfare management and planning practices and workforce development activities and methodologies; will be knowledgeable about the California educational system/resources; will be able to work collaboratively with agency staff, other organizations, and mental health stakeholders; have experience with writing grants; and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience working with project budget administration is a plus. A Bachelors degree in a qualifying area and bilingual skills are also highly desirable.
