Job Vacancy - Payroll Accountant E-mail Print PDF Arab Open University (AOU) invites applications, nominations, and expression of interest for the post of Payroll Accountant. The candidate will report directly to the Human Resources Director. This vacancy is full time under a one year renewable contract and is located at AOU – HQ in Kuwait. Key Responsibility: Implement the day-to-day operations of the respective department by providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, and aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets and objectives, and ensure employee engagement in a motivated work environment. Execute the monthly payroll run and provide the finance department with the required reports to ensure that all measures are taken to safeguard the confidentiality of pay information. Maintain and monitor all employees data entry activities to ensure all payments are correctly entered and processed on the payroll system. Revise monthly entries on the system against approved documents, as per the authority matrix, verify information, and correct possible errors to secure accuracy of the payroll process. Ensure compliance of the payroll with the set rules and regulations of AOU. Prepare standard MIS and reports once the payroll is closed and submit it to the concerned parties on monthly basis in conjunction with HR Director. Generate regular and special reports for HR Director that summarize and forecast business activities and financial position of ‘Payroll’ activities and escalate critical issues to provide effective recommendations in meeting the key challenges. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Financial accounting Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive professional experience in human resources in a a ccounting role with focus on payroll related activities. Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Arabic and English. Decision making skills Planning and organization skills Team building skills High computer literacy skills Detailed knowledge of accounting HR policies & procedures Good knowledge of Employee Compensation and Benefits Laws and Regulations Regulatory environment of the country – Labour law Excellent proficiency in Payroll processing module of Oracle Interested candidates can send in their letter of application together with a CV and copies of academic credentials no later than 24th September 2013 to : [email protected]
