Job Description The Geographic Analyst I is a developmental role with mentoring support from the more experienced Geographic Analysts and the Country Lead. Under direct supervision, the Geographic Analyst I participate in map creation activities within a defined geographic area. Engages and supports expert communities on map content updates. Required qualifications 1. Egyptian Nationality is a must. 2. Cairo or Giza resident. 3. BSc. Of Civil/surveying Engineer or Computer Science with minimum grade food. 4. Strong GIS background. 5. Proficient with the geography encoding tools. 6. Proficient with MS office package. 7. Aware with the GPS devices , functions and types. 8. Demonstrated ability for spatial orientation; i.e. applying the map to “real world” and mapping “real world” observations. 9. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and in local language are a must. 10. Good Knowledge of project management tools (Microsoft Project). 11. Proficient in Business Report Writing. 12. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills. 13. Strong presentation skills. 14. Good organizational, time management, problem-solving skills and the ability to work. Accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions. 15. Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. 16. Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion. 17. Excellent Analytical skills. 18. Research and analytical skills sufficient to analyze problems in a multi- faceted way and to develop and participate in implementing innovative solutions. 19. Ability to relate to individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and to work with them in a fair, supportive and cooperative manner. 20. Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment . 21. Ability to plan activities and programs such as meetings, orientations, retreats. 22. Ability to develop and give oral presentations to both large and small groups. 23. Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately and concisely to non-technical audience. 24. Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated abilities to resolve diverse problems, to understand the importance of structure, organization, resource management and to complete critical tasks in a timely manner. 25. The incumbent must have the ability to travel frequently and for extended periods within and outside the Area. 26. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
