#JobAlert! Preservation Specialist, Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) in Philadelphia is seeking a full-time Preservation Specialist. This position contributes to the mission of CCAHA through conducting institutional assessments and assisting with institutional preservation planning; developing and presenting educational programs; and providing technical information to libraries, archives, museums, historic sites, and other cultural institutions. The responsibilities of this position include conducting on-site preservation needs assessments and risk assessments with written reports; assisting institutions to develop preservation plans, emergency plans, and collections management policies; developing, presenting, and organizing educational programs and workshops; presenting lectures and preparing programs for professional and lay audiences to promote awareness of preservation and conservation concerns and practices; and providing technical information via telephone, e-mail, and in print on preservation topics. The Preservation Specialist also maintains familiarity with preservation literature, and may also be called upon to write articles for publication. This position offers potential for professional growth through varied and challenging activities. MLS (or equivalent), MA in Museum Studies, or MS in Conservation and a minimum of two years experience working in a library, archive, or museum. Travel is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
