Jobs+++Jobs++++ Transport / Warehouse Manager £26-£28k & Bonus Southampton Job Purpose You will be responsible for controlling costs and maximising profitability by motivating, leading, inspiring the Staff to consistently deliver the highest standard of safety, quality and service. Main Responsibilities Assume overall site responsibility including Finance Liase with area manager and review of all operational costs which affect site profitability. Plan Staff efficiently in line with activity levels. Complete records accurately e.g. payroll, holidays, purchase orders, petty cash, etc. Transport Ensure vehicle servicing, MOTs, defects & repair work is completed in line with Company procedures. Manage and adhere to Vehicle defect process in line with Company procedures Manage tachograph analysis for drivers’ hours & WTD in line with Company procedures Ensure all drivers meet company insurance requirements & hold appropriate licence type, including agency drivers Ensure that vehicle VDU downloads are completed in line with company procedures. Ensure Operational security requirements are adhered to, e.g. vehicle keys, phones, fuel cards, EPOD’s. H&S Ensure processes and procedures for Health & Safety are adhered to and practised at all times. Promote H&S by setting good examples and maintaining through supervision and observations Conduct inductions and Health and Safety training and ensure accurate records are maintained at all times. Ensure all Staff wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times. HR Induction/Training/Coaching of all Staff Promote open and honest communication, using constructive feedback as a development opportunity. Attend Monthly Site Management Meetings Support regular reviews/appraisals of the site team Support management of sickness absence process, including accurate record keeping and RTW interviews. Conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings up to and including Final Warning as per Company procedures Summary of Personal Capabilities/Competencies Experience of supervising or managing FMCG logistics operations, ideally home delivery. Very good communicator and influencing skills at all levels. Very good planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise to achieve tangible results Very good time management and delegation skills Very good coaching, counselling and decision making skills Ability to lead by example Ability to pay attention to detail Self motivated to develop Good level of computer literacy Must hold a current Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage Apply with CV:[email protected]
