Joes an old and trusted friend, founder of the Center for Digital Storytelling. If Joes recommending a book, its probably worth reading. Heres his comment about it (BTW, only note Id add is buy it at your local independent bookstore, not on Amazon :) Friends, I dont usually hawk books, especially books about my old home town. But in a few days we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the gunning down of a President in Dallas, and I got caught via a NY Times article inside this book. What is chilling about the book, is that the echo of every part of the Tea Party lunacy is described in the emergence of the anti-Kennedy right wing lunatics of Dallas in 1960. It was as if Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck was cloned from a mix of Dealey (Dallas Morning News), Criswell(Dallas Baptist leader) and H.L. Hunt(then the richest man in America) of that time. And of course in many ways they were. If you want to know the ground zero of contemporary right wing America, read the first 100 pages of this book, 1960-61, two years before Kennedy made the choice to visit Dallas. amazon/dp/1455522090/ref=rdr_ext_tmb
