Joes nightly update. Hi everyone, Today has been another day of slow, steady improvement for dad. He still had a high fever this morning, so as a precautionary measure the doctors sent him for another CT scan and also took a look at his head and abdomen to make sure there wasnt something else causing the fever. The results of the scans all came back clear, which is good news, and his fever came down in the middle of the day and has remained low ever since. Theyre going to give him another breathing test in the morning and will evaluate whether or not hes ready to come off the vent completely. Im looking forward to seeing him progress off of the sedation and the vent, but am also prepared for a couple of really hard days because of the inevitable pain that dad will have to deal with in order to breathe on his own. Judy continues to stay with dad at the hospital and is very tired—physically and emotionally—but is holding steady. Shes quite resilient but I can tell that the emotional roller coaster is starting to have an affect on her. Pray that she is able to get extra rest and that she can start to feel peace about the progress dad had made. Shes going to need to be well rested once he is awake and in need of her care. Ill try to send out an early update tomorrow once I hear how the breathing test went. Good night, Joe
